Ontmoet de fotograaf

Ik ben Ton van Zeijl, portret- en Fine-Art fotograaf.  Sinds 1984 woon ik met veel plezier aan de rand van Zoetermeer op 5 minuten lopen van de Meerpolder en het Buytenpark. Zo is het mogelijk om ‘in de stad’ te zijn, maar ook mij ‘terug te trekken’ voor een wandeling in de natuur. Die afwisseling vind ik fijn.

Het lukte hem om 6 eigenzinnige en kritische trainers zodanig te benaderen dat ze zich van hun beste kant lieten zien. Daaruit merkte ik zijn ervaring en vakmanschap in het fotograferen van een ieders unieke karakter.

  • 'Op de Pijp met ...' is een uitdrukking in Westland die gaat over; Even pauze, even op de pijp, bakkie doen en een praatje maken. Met en over bijzondere Westlanders. Westlanders met een verhaal. Het verschijnt wekelijks in Nieuwsblad Westland. Gemaakt al sinds 2011 door Esdor van Elten en mijzelf. Nu gaat het over Maurice Wiedenhof, die van 'kantoortijger', via de Amsterdamse Theater Academie theatermaker werd. Dat doet hij o.a. met de Westlandse Plankeniers theatergroep. Hier een 4 tal foto's van de repetitie voor het stuk Calendar Girls, een waargebeurd feel good verhaal. In het toneelstuk zie je als het ware de kalender tot stand komen. Voor mij was het een leuke avond met gepassioneerde spelers, een vrolijke no nonsens regiseur die vol vuur de regie doet 'Op de Pijp met ...' is an expression in Westland that means; a moment’s pause, just sitting on the (heating)pipe in the greenhouse, having a cup of coffee and a chat. The photo is from the Gave Stad project in which I photographed Zoetermeer and from which a book, a film and exhibitions (including in Xiamen, China) emerged. De torenspits van de Pelgrimskerk uit 1932 aan de Eerste Stationsweg in Zoetermeer. Lokaal ook wel de Boterkerk genoemd in de wijk Dorp.   • Poyo de Roldán, hut on a hill near Nájera in my album 'Doors of the Camino' Today I posted a number of new images of my walk to Santiago at Art Heroes. The album is called Doors of the Camino. Image of a beautiful journey that brought me a lot. I truly enjoyed the people I met and the tranquil beauty of vast vistas, atmospheric villages during this walk. I came across this special building near the village of Nájera in the Rioja. I also put it in an interior to show as an impression of the atmosphere :-) You can find it on Poyo de Roldán, hut op een heuvel in de buurt van Nájera. uit mijn album 'Deuren van de Camino' (www.artheroes.com/en/artwork/Poyo-de-Roldan-hut-on-a-hill-near-Najera) Vandaag weer een aantal nieuwe beelden van mijn wandeltocht naar Santiago bij Art Heroes geplaatst.   • 'Who would he be waiting for, all alone in front of the famous Place des Arts?' From the series 'People in Montreal'. A series I made years ago during a visit to the city of Montreal together with my mother at the invitation of loving friends of hers. And since I was there anyway, I took the opportunity to explore the city with my camera and a bag full of film. This led to my first streetphotography exhibition, dedicated to my father and mother (both deceased) in the city hall of Zoetermeer.   • Sloepkade in Zoetermeer Door dat de Zoetermeerse plas werd uitgegraven ontstond een waterrijk gebied met watersportfaciliteiten, fiets- en wandelpaden. Een 'klein Venetië'. De bebouwing in het 'klein Venetië' in de wijk De Leyens is divers met een afwisseling van vrijstaande woningen, rijtjes huizen en twee onder een kap woningen. Deze foto is gemaakt met een Hasselblad 500 cm camera op Kodak negatieffilm 160 VC. Zoetermeer, de Gave Stad Vanaf september 2001 fotografeer ik de stad Zoetermeer onder de naam "Zoetermeer, de Gave Stad". In eerste instantie op film met mijn Hasselblad 500 CM. Later digitaal met mijn Canon camera’s. Het project omvatte wijk- tentoonstellingen, een boek, een film met bewoners en tentoonstellingen in China en Slovenië. Fotografie kan een echte belevenis zijn en sfeerbepalend in een interieur. Een foto is voor mij dan ook pas echt af als hij is geprint.   • People of Montreal Many years ago, my mother was invited by friends in Canada to stay with them for a while after my father passed away earlier that year. She was happy to respond and asked me if I would like to join her on this journey for support. Of course, I wanted to do that for her and so we left for Montreal at the beginning of May. A week full of pleasant and emotional conversations, memories of the past and present and visits to their family and children followed. It was a wonderful experience for us. And of course, because I was there anyway, I also wanted to see something of the city. That opportunity came the second week I was there. Armed with my camera and a bag full of film, I explored the city. This gave rise to my first street photography exhibition, dedicated to my father and mother (she has now also passed away) with the title 'People in Montreal'. This series can now be partly seen on my website. 'Who would he be waiting for, all alone in front of the famous Place des Arts?' From the series 'People in Montreal'. A series I made years ago during a visit to the city of Montreal together with my mother at the invitation of loving friends of hers. And since I was there anyway, I took the opportunity to explore the city with my camera and a bag full of film. This led to my first streetphotography exhibition, dedicated to my father and mother (both deceased) in the city hall of Zoetermeer. Sloepkade in Zoetermeer Door dat de Zoetermeerse plas werd uitgegraven ontstond een waterrijk gebied met watersportfaciliteiten, fiets- en wandelpaden. Een 'klein Venetië'. De bebouwing in het 'klein Venetië' in de wijk De Leyens is divers met een afwisseling van vrijstaande woningen, rijtjes huizen en twee onder een kap woningen. Deze foto is gemaakt met een Hasselblad 500 cm camera op Kodak negatieffilm 160 VC. Zoetermeer, de Gave Stad Vanaf september 2001 fotografeer ik de stad Zoetermeer onder de naam "Zoetermeer, de Gave Stad". In eerste instantie op film met mijn Hasselblad 500 CM. Later digitaal met mijn Canon camera’s. Het project omvatte wijk- tentoonstellingen, een boek, een film met bewoners en tentoonstellingen in China en Slovenië. Fotografie kan een echte belevenis zijn en sfeerbepalend in een interieur. Een foto is voor mij dan ook pas echt af als hij is geprint. She was happy to respond and asked me if I would like to join her on this journey for support. Of course, I wanted to do that for her and so we left for Montreal at the beginning of May. A week full of pleasant and emotional conversations, memories of the past and present and visits to their family and children followed. It was a wonderful experience for us. And of course, because I was there anyway, I also wanted to see something of the city. That opportunity came the second week I was there. Armed with my camera and a bag full of film, I explored the city.
